We are convinced that everyone deserves the great experience of perfect sound – seamlessly integrated into any building. The innovative master/client technology reduces the cabling effort by more than 80% and enables flexible expansion and customised scaling of your customer’s audio installation.

Master / Client Technology:
The next stage of the audio revolution

The innovative master/client technology reduces the cabling effort by more than 80% and enables flexible expansion and customised scaling of your audio installation. The master speaker sets the pace, while the clients can be individually adjusted in volume.

The Tree-Turbo interface allows up to ten master speakers to be connected via star, line, tree or bus topology. Up to 20 client speakers can be connected to each master speaker. The cabling between master and client or from client to client must be done via daisy chain.

Our master / client speakers: Audio excellence from Quadral!

Highly efficient with
low power consumption

Our innovative speakers deliver the entire audio spectrum in high-quality resolution.
The digital signal processor separates the frequency ranges into high and low frequencies with absolutely no loss. Together with the efficient Class-D amplifier, this guarantees a loss-free audio experience of the highest quality.

Double the RMS power compared to the Stereo Extension

Analogue Class A/B amplifiers often have considerable quality losses. This is why we rely on digital signal processing for our master/client loudspeakers. The result is a doubling of the RMS power to 36W compared to a Stereo Extension – and with lower power consumption.

Bluetooth

Audio content can be transmitted to the master speaker via Bluetooth from any end device. The Bluetooth capability of a master speaker can be switched on or off in the Loxone Config using logic or within the Loxone App under the settings of the Audio Player Function Block.

New: Install Sub 10 Master / Client

The Install Sub 10 provides powerful bass and takes the strain off the other speakers in your installation, guaranteeing a full, balanced sound. The Install Sub 10 is available as a master or client speaker. When adding an Install Sub 10, the DSP (Digital Signal Processing) settings are automatically adjusted.

Steamlined installation wherever you want it

Our 7″ and 10″ Install speakers can be installed into ceilings, walls or even furniture in just a few simple steps. There is a suitable back box for every installation situation.

]]>
Buildings are responsible for 44% of global energy consumption. That’s why we are convinced that sustainable energy management must be standard in every building! Simple, automated and transparent.

Energy: first measure, then manage.

From the grid connection to the PV system to the consumer. If you want to manage energy efficiently, you first need to know where the energy flows to in the building, how much it consumes and how much it produces. This requires suitable energy meters.

Energy meter: a must-have for efficient energy management

The integration of energy meters used to be complex, time-consuming and associated with various challenges:

  • Is there a suitable interface?
  • Is there a clearly documented data sheet with the register addresses?
  • Which register addresses are required?
  • In which unit are the values obtained?
  • Is the counter wired correctly or do you get inverted values?

These challenges have made real energy management unnecessarily complicated. At Loxone, however, we want to make building automation as simple as possible. That’s why we developed the Energy Meter Tree.

Energy Meter Tree 1- & 3-Phase:
Energy measurement easier than ever

The MID-certified Energy Meter Tree can be integrated into your Loxone installation via Plug & Play. This makes them the easiest meters on the market to integrate.

The Highlights:

  • Streamlined integration – get started straight away thanks to Tree technology instead of having to deal with register addresses.
  • MID certification – MID certification and sealability enable the collection of billing-relevant data.
  • Full integration – always maintain a complete overview of consumption, production and costs thanks to seamless integration into load management.
  • Recording of live values – also records short load peaks thanks to second-by-second polling.

Want to find out more about energy management with Loxone?

Holistic energy management can reduce a building’s energy consumption by half.

The focus here is on recording and visualising all energy consumers, producers and consumers. In order to visualise and optimise all energy flows, a building needs a central control system: the Loxone Miniserver. This connects all the (energy) components of a building and ensures that they work as efficiently as possible, both individually and in combination.

New: Config & App 15 https://www.loxone.com/enen/blog/config-app-15/ https://www.loxone.com/enen/blog/config-app-15/#respond Sun, 12 May 2024 10:21:00 +0000 https://www.loxone.com/enen/?p=301324 The post New: Config & App 15 appeared first on ENEN Loxone.

]]>
The new Loxone Config & App 15 further improves the most powerful software for home and building automation. Find out all about the new features in the areas of energy, audio, lighting, access and more in this blog.

Learn all about the new Config & App 15 in this video:

Wallbox Config

01 Improved Wallbox Function Block

Using the energy surplus from a photovoltaic system intelligently, realising individual charging modes, avoiding load peaks and much more is all made possible by the Wallbox function block – and it has now been given new price inputs.

Up to 5 different charging modes can be created with different prices per kW as well as a separate kilowatt price for a manual charging mode with individual charging power, which can be set via the Loxone App.

Wallbox Manager Config

02 Improved Wallbox Manager

If several Wallboxes are used in a network, buildings and cables require special protection against overloading. The Wallbox Manager module was developed for this purpose, it limits the loads, intelligently distributes the energy (and surplus) to several wallboxes and can be used to realise different charging modes.

With Config 15, the Wallbox Manager function block has been further improved by distributing the energy from Wallboxes that are connected but not actively charging to those Wallboxes that are actively charging.

Wallbox Manager Config
Energieflussmonitor Loxone App

03 Improved Energy Flow Monitor

The Energy Flow Monitor combines consumers, generators, storage and the grid, in a clearly organised way – making energy flows more easily visible. With the new update, the Energy Flow Monitor also becomes part of the Automatic Designer in the App. With conditions for grid electricity, self-generated electricity and much more now supported. This means that customised logic can be programmed via the App and the Automatic Designer using the Energy Flow Monitor.

The Energy Flow Monitor has also become part of Auto Config, making it even easier for trained Loxone Partners to implement and use in Loxone home and building automation installations. An Energy Flow Monitor is now created via the Auto Config, meters and Power Supply & Backup are added to it and set accordingly.

Audio History Loxone App

04 Audio

The history in the Loxone App is an important tool for an even better understanding of processes in a building. For example, why is the shade moving or why is the light on? Were the processes triggered by logic or manually by a user?

This history is now also available for the audio player with Config & App 15.

Audio History Loxone App

05 New: Soundsuit Integration

With Config & App 15, the Soundsuit streaming service was implemented, which enables music to be streamed legally in commercial areas such as cafés, restaurants, hotels, shops and much more. Soundsuit also offers the great advantage that the music can be customised precisely to the target group. Soundsuit can also be used to easily manage multiple locations or branches from a single point.

06 New: Exosphere

Exosphere is an innovative cloud application specifically designed for Loxone Partners and Facility Managers with multiple installations, of any scale, and with any number of locations. It is the central point for visualising and controlling all of your Miniservers, enabling unprecedented efficiency in terms of management, monitoring and maintenance. All information about Exosphere can be found in the respective blog.

pp-(c)Loxone_DALI-Extension-small

07 New: DALI2 for the DALI Extension

Our DALI extensions are now also certified for DALI 2, which has been implemented on the software side with Config 15. This means that DALI2 sensors such as presence detectors or similar can now also be integrated. Delivery of the DALI2-certified DALI Extensions will start shortly.

08 New: Deactivation of the password reset

The deactivation of the password reset, which prevents the admin password from being reset, ensures even more security in your projects. The password can then no longer be reset if the SD card of the Miniserver is removed, connected to the PC and reset via the Loxone Config.

NFC Block Config

09 New: Authorisation parameters for NFC

With Loxone, you can realise secure and straightforward access, and its management, to your building – which is now even more flexible with Config 15. With the NFC Code Touch, access can be granted either via NFC or a code – or both via two-factor authentication. In the future, you will also be able to activate this as a parameter via a separate input on the NFC module, for example for different operating times.

Practical example: In an office, simple authentication is sufficient during operating hours; outside these hours, two-factor authentication is required. This can be easily realised by combining the NFC function block with the Timer Switch function block.

As always, you can find an overview of all changes in the changelog.

Casa Sophia – automating Spain’s most sustainable home https://www.loxone.com/enen/blog/casa-sophia/ https://www.loxone.com/enen/blog/casa-sophia/#respond Mon, 15 Apr 2024 10:55:30 +0000 https://www.loxone.com/enen/?p=292521 The post Casa Sophia – automating Spain’s most sustainable home appeared first on ENEN Loxone.

]]>
Welcome to Casa Sophia – a home true to the meaning of its name, “wisdom”. This building is the result of two years of work including design, development and construction. The goal of this project was to create the most sustainable home in Spain and Europe. Casa Sophia has obtained the GREEN GBCe Certificate awarded by the Green Building Council España (GBCe) with 5 leaves and a score of 92%. This development put careful thought into achieving the highest possible energy efficiency in a healthy and environmentally conscious home.

Project objectives

In Casa Sophia, from conception to construction, people’s health and sustainability have been prioritised as the main focus of the project. As a Passivhaus Premium building, it incorporates all the necessary technical criteria to achieve this.

Loxone’s intelligent building management enables the intelligent operation of the home and achieves significant energy and cost savings. The essential data for health and efficiency is constantly monitored, and the system automatically adapts to the circumstances at any given time. Every action and all recorded data is visualised in the Loxone App. When the measurements exceed the set limits of comfort or efficiency, the home acts to maintain an optimal environment and seamless operation at all times.

Bio construction and biopassive housing

At Casa Sophia, construction was focused on using resources from nature and protecting the health of its occupants. This is achieved through bio construction, a philosophy that uses green materials to guarantee a minimised impact on the environment. From the extraction of materials to recycling them, every step is managed in a sustainable way.

How is this achieved? First, a geobiological study of the terrain was carried out to detect any materials that could affect the health of the residents. In addition, the home’s design is adapted to the geographical conditions and the local climate to ensure a comfortable environment.

Wood, sourced from sustainable forests, is the main material used by 100X100BioPasiva. All other design elements, such as paints and finishes, are also sustainable. These low-impact resources benefit the environment.
In addition, Loxone’s low voltage systems and 24V operation creates a living space that’s free of electrical and electromagnetic pollution.

But that’s not all. Since 1993, 100x100BioPasiva has been building with sustainability, health and maximum energy efficiency in mind, and since 2012 they have revolutionised the world of construction with “biopassive housing“, an approach that combines bio construction with the Passivhaus Standard. These homes are highly energy efficient, offer exceptional comfort temperature management all year round and minimise the need for conventional air conditioning systems.

A biopassive house is characterised by strategic design: good insulation, very high performance windows, environmentally friendly materials, controlled ventilation, energy-conscious features, comfort temperatures and sound levels – all within an efficient design. Incorporating the Loxone building management system into a biopassive home not only takes the environment into account, but also provides the best quality of life for residents.

Casa Sophia

Air quality for health and wellbeing

At Casa Sophia, air quality is more than a priority: it is a commitment. To meet the requirements of both the meticulous Passivhaus Standard and the bio construction philosophy, the quality of the air in the house is of utmost importance for the wellbeing of the occupants.

To monitor and record a wide range of data related to air quality, the MICA device from InBiot – compatible with the Loxone system – is used to record and visualise the air quality measurements in the Loxone App. In addition, Loxone’s intelligent automation takes care of the ventilation, increasing the flow when particle levels reach 600/million micrograms per cubic meter. At Casa Sophia, the air you breathe is a hallmark of quality that makes a difference in every corner of the home.

Formaldehyde and radon gas levels, volatile organic compounds, airborne dust particles, tropospheric ozone, CO2, temperature and humidity levels are all measured. The use of this data is truly impressive and gives yet another reason to choose low-impact materials that promote both a healthier planet and our own wellbeing.

sombreado automático

Automated smart blinds

At the heart of every Passivhaus home should be an automated solar shading system that serves as protection against overheating.

Casa Sophia has been designed through bioclimatic architecture that optimises its location and the local temperatures. During the winter, when the sun is in a lower position, it can still raise the interior temperature up to 28ºC. However, the smart blinds managed and controlled by Loxone automation prevent overheating in both summer and winter. The system monitors the interior temperature and when it detects that the desired comfort temperature is exceeded by 2ºC, it automatically adjusts the louvres to block sunlight out of the room. With this method, Casa Sophia maintains a pleasant and balanced atmosphere throughout the year so residents can enjoy unparalleled comfort in every season.

This automation frees homeowners from worrying about raising and lowering the blinds manually. The Loxone system acts by itself to contribute to temperature control all year round. This adds convenience, comfort and extra security to the building.

Electric vehicles charging

The management of electric vehicle charging in Casa Sophia is very important. When the most amount of solar energy is generated, with a maximum of almost 14kW, the Loxone system acts depending on the current consumption and production and automatically activates priority consumers such as the Loxone Wallbox. The energy generated is managed most efficiently across high consumers and the system allows constant monitoring of the charging information via centralised visualisation in the Loxone App – the same software that allows for the control of all smart functions in the home.

Utilising solar surplus for better energy management is indispensable functionality that may go unnoticed. The facts, however, speak for themselves: using renewable energy this way has allowed Casa Sophia to be a “positive home” since February 2022, which means it generates more power than it consumes.

Wallbox Loxone

Virtual batteries and limitless energy

At Casa Sophia, technology is the main provider of cost and energy savings. Being a “positive house”, all surplus energy is stored in a virtual battery, as if it were a piggy bank. This means that when cloudy winter days arrive, the surplus stored in the piggy bank is used to supply the house. Casa Sophia will always remain a “positive house” due to this method of power generation. Loxone automation makes this process incredibly easy and unlocks the photovoltaic system’s full potential.

iluminación automática

The Miniserver: efficient consumption 24/7

The Miniserver is the central brain of Casa Sophia. It takes care of numerous essential functions to improve everyday life for residents. The two most crucial are intelligent lighting and air conditioning. Automating these features significantly contributes to the optimisation of energy consumption, resulting in incredible savings.

Via the Presence Sensors, lighting and AC control work automatically, meaning they will not activate once the occupants have left the house and therefore will not waste energy when nobody’s home.

Approximately 80% of the luminaires in the house are LED lights powered at 24V. This not only helps to reduce electromagnetic fields, but also allows for efficient and precise control and dimming. At Casa Sophia, technology and efficiency go hand in hand to offer state-of-the-art and sustainable lighting.

Air conditioning, comfort and efficiency

In a house designed according to the Passivhaus Standard, energy consumption needs to be minimal from day 1. Through the integration of the Loxone building automation system, Casa Sophia can maintain a pleasant and constant climate in all rooms by adjusting the humidity and temperature levels according to the residents’ preferences.

One of the main priorities in passive house projects is the comfort and wellbeing of occupants. Therefore, in Casa Sophia, 2 air conditioning systems have been implemented to provide two different options. One of them is exclusively for air conditioning developed by 100x100BioPasiva through ventilation. The other system includes the underfloor heating/cooling on the ground floor.

The key to operate this home so efficiently is the harmonious control of all smart functions in a single installation and via the Loxone App. This not only makes climate control intuitive and convenient for the residents, but also promotes a high level of wellbeing in everyday life. At Casa Sophia, comfort is above all else.

Green areas and water management

At Casa Sophia, natural resources work with cutting-edge automation technology to create a sustainable environment.

The house has 4 irrigation zones controlled by Loxone, and a bio-depurator that recycles and reuses both rainwater and greywater from the showers and toilets.

This water passes through a simple filter, then gets directed to the bathroom cisterns and the green areas: the green roof, the vertical garden, all the gardens around the house and the interior garden under the staircase. All of this is controlled by Loxone.

Humidity sensors are key to keeping the plants and lawns in good condition. The Loxone Weather Station on the roof collects data to predict if it’s going to rain. If rain is forecast, irrigation is not activated so water doesn’t go to waste.

Water management is crucial – especially these days – and Casa Sophia ensures that it’s only used when absolutely necessary.

riego automático

Total safety and security for peace of mind

Safety and security is essential for any home or building. The optimised Loxone system takes care of this in Casa Sophia with maximum efficiency to reduce day-to-day worries.

Water Sensor Air devices are essential components in this home and have been placed in all wet areas: kitchens and bathrooms. In the event of a detected incident, the system acts and warns the residents through their smartphones and with the lights flashing. If there’s a possible escape of water, Loxone automatically cuts off the main water supply. This can reduce the possibility of flooding and wasting water due to minor oversights. By integrating all these safety features into the Loxone system, home insurance costs have been significantly reduced.

Door & Window Contacts both inside and outside and an audible alarm ensure that the home is kept safe and secure by a one-off investment and no monthly fees.

As electrical installers and integrators, we work closely with 100X100BioPasiva and we are committed to Loxone because it gives us the opportunity to bring together all the installations that converge in a building. In this case, the Passivhaus takes a special relevance when it comes to control in a more exhaustive way – that is the air conditioning at the same time as the control of shading.

José Manuel Ares

Loxone Partner, TECNOBIENESTAR IOT, S.L.

The Loxone passive house automation system will use as many green resources and energy-efficient technologies as possible through a single solution in the most efficient way. This active system intelligently controls functions like shading and presence-based lighting through automation to ensure maximum comfort and convenience for the occupants, who will get to spend time on the important things without having to worry about opening or closing the blinds according to the position of the sun or turning the heating off.

]]>

The release of Loxone Config 14.7, just over a month ago, saw lots of new features added to our building automation ecosystem. We published a blog announcing the release of the latest version and highlighted 8 exciting new features and improvements. In this echo blog, we’re still talking about the latest release; with even more information about what was included in Config 14.7…

You can find all the information about Config 14.7 in our release blog here.

Network devices: Address Resolve Fallback

Thanks to the new ‘Address Resolve Fallback’ feature, the Miniserver and the Loxone network devices can be found even if the network settings have not been configured correctly. The new fallback system now automatically searches the network for the device in order to establish a connection – for example, if you are in a different subnet or if the local address of the device has been stored incorrectly when you change from a static to a dynamic IP.

Window and door monitoring

In the new version, window and door monitoring objects can now be nested. In addition, the Gate/Garage Function Block for garages or garage doors can also be selected.

Window

The Window Function Block has been given a new output for the target position (TPos) and a new input for the current position (CPos). This enables even more precise and user-friendly control of the windows.

Loxone Library

The Loxone Library contains numerous templates for integrating a wide range of devices into Loxone Config. With the new Config 14.7, it is no longer necessary to go to the Loxone Library website to download templates. Search & Download are now conveniently possible directly via the Loxone Config.

Mathematical. Function Blocks

Our mathematics Function Blocks: Add, Multiply, Min/Max and Average can now be connected to several sensors at one input. This simplifies the complete configuration, especially in larger projects, as fewer blocks are needed, making the configuration clearer and leaner.

Lilu’s House: communications and automation

What makes Lilu’s House unique is its ability to communicate to, control and automate all of its systems. From data measurements to energy management, everything in this house works collaboratively. Certified by Energiehaus, Lilu’s House has an advanced system of sensors and detectors that allow the monitoring of temperature, humidity, CO2, VOCs, particulate matter and formaldehyde. But that’s not all: Lilu’s House goes further by integrating the ventilation, heating, cooling, shading, photovoltaic energy production and lighting systems.

The key to success lies in solving a common challenge for passive houses: the need for efficient communication between different systems. Installing the Loxone Miniserver as the brain of the automation system allows all the intelligent elements to work in harmony, avoiding unnecessary consumption and guaranteeing a comfortable environment. It is no longer just a well-built house, but a home that evolves and adapts to the needs of its residents automatically.

The joint and automated management of data collection, and the automated operation of the ventilation, energy production, air conditioning and lighting systems are the technical key to Lilu’s House, guaranteeing optimum performance and exceptional energy efficiency.

In addition, the minimised time and wiring spent on the installation debunk the myth that integrating automation into a building is nothing more than an overly-expensive extravagance – it proves that considering installation in the planning phase to optimise all costs is crucial.

Automating energy management for a sustainable future

The ability to access and analyse data is critical at Lilu’s House. From room temperature to air quality and energy consumption, everything is recorded and made available to companies and universities seeking to better understand energy-efficient buildings and their behaviour.

Consumption control is not limited to just energy: it includes appliances, HVAC systems and many other functionalities, ensuring holistic energy management. Automation in Lilu’s House goes beyond comfort and convenience. The building’s automated energy management is based on the accurate measurements of data and the ability to adapt to various conditions with the shared primary goal of maximising efficiency.

  • Ventilation system: As soon as the CO2 reading exceeds 1000ppm or the humidity in the air exceeds 65%, the automation system activates the ventilation at a higher power.
  • Temperature management: Ensures the stability of constant optimum comfort temperatures set according to time and/or presence. The system uses the most economical operation modes for to each occasion to reach or maintain the target temperature.
  • Load management: The Loxone system shifts consumers during the day according to the amount of energy produced by the photovoltaic panels or according to the hourly electricity tariff.
  • Automation of the smart blinds: Adjusts the venetian blinds depending on the position of the sun, the interior and exterior temperature and the time of day to avoid overheating.

The home that cares for your health

Focusing on health and wellbeing, the team carried out a detailed study of radiation:

    • Natural radiation: Hartmann lines and their crossing points were analysed to identify areas with higher telluric or geopathogenic energy. This helps to avoid placing beds and furniture in harmful areas.
    • Artificial radiation: The lighting is operated with 24V DC to avoid the generation of electromagnetic fields. The sockets are also equipped with shielded cables to minimise radiation. Particular attention was paid to the lamps chosen for the home, especially for places such as the bedside table.

    Guaranteed air quality

To avoid a stagnant dwelling with high CO2 levels, double flow ventilation systems were installed, also managed by Loxone.

These systems operate 24 hours a day, changing to different intensities based on the CO2 levels. Intelligent sensors, operated by Loxone, detect discrepancies by monitoring humidity levels and CO2 concentration levels, so the system can adjust the airflow when necessary.

In addition, the Loxone building energy management system considers efficiency through the individual and collective consumption monitoring of all components, including the ventilation system which uses just 20-30 W per hour (almost zero in terms of overall power consumption). This not only ensures excellent energy efficiency but also guarantees unprecedented comfort due to the high indoor air quality, achieving the perfect combination of well-being and energy management.

    calidad del aire

Loxone elevates the living experience at Lilu’s House

    • Control of the external humidity entering the building is crucial as the home is located in a warm Mediterranean climate and close to a river. Depending on the outside temperature, inside temperature and relative humidity, a bypass is continuously connected and disconnected, allowing air to enter directly from outside if this improves the condition of air in the house. At the same time, a duct expels the excess humidity to help prevent condensation.
    • Automated irrigation prevents the watering system from switching on if it has rained in the last few hours or if rain is forecasted for the next few hours.
    • The installation includes a security system with audio alerts (messages that play when potential incidents or oversights are detected) and notifications via the Loxone App. Instant warnings for possible leaks, unexpected temperature changes and other discrepancies will instruct the home to act automatically by, for example, closing the valves to help prevent further water damage.
    • Loxone automates indoor and outdoor lighting. The lights indoors follow the circadian cycle and are activated and regulated according to presence and brightness to avoid always having the lighting on at maximum power. Outdoor lighting is operated according to brightness and time of day. In addition, if the windows are opened at night, the interior lighting changes to red tones to prevent insects from coming in.

With the Loxone automation system, Lilu’s House has been able to consume less than expected by the Passive House Planning Package, especially during the summer months, when the anticipated consumption was significantly higher. The study is still in progress, monitoring monthly consumption for at least one year to obtain an even more representative data set.

Loxone’s solution provision is not only what I had in mind raising and lowering blinds and opening skylights but it also offered us climate control, air quality control and lighting control in addition to the quality of the Loxone lights that we have installed. This whole integrated system is what made us decide to go with Loxone.”

      Pere Linares

      Fundador House Habitat, HOUSE HABITAT

A passive house automation system integrated with Loxone can address all Passivhaus criterias and provide the purest quality of life and the highest levels of convenience and comfort inside the building through intelligent automation. With intelligent automation by Loxone, the human factor is minimised and the occupants can rely on the truly efficient active operational system to take care of everything.

As a lot of us know, the right lighting in our day-to-day lives plays a crucial role in our well-being. This lighting can be optimised through intelligent automation control so that you feel maximum benefit. However, the benefits of automated lighting does not stop there, and instead can do much more, for example in security, playing a significant role in the safety of people and buildings.

Experience elevated security through intelligent lighting with Loxone

      Presence simulation

If the building is empty, like your home on a family holiday or office at the weekends, the lighting simulates presence by switching on and off intelligently, according to a normal daily routine. This acts as a deterrent for burglars and keeps your building secure.

      Alarm

In the event of a break-in, the entire building becomes an alarm system. With the lighting playing a significant role in this, by flashing when triggered, along with the shading opening to show the burglar to anyone in the vicinity, a traditional audible alarm and notifications (or phone calls with the caller service) to alert those in charge of the building.

      Event response

The lighting can signify to building occupants of various events, such as smoke or water ingress, so that the responsible people can react in a fast manner reducing the risks and ultimately damage.

Whether in a single room or in an entire building, whether in commercial buildings or a smart home, whether via Loxone Config or in the App: automating the entire lighting system with Loxone is streamlined to install for trained Loxone installation Partners and intuitive for users to operate. In this blog, you will discover how to create different lighting moods and fully automate their activation and deactivation.

      Operating mode & automatic designer

In an intelligent building, most processes occur automatically and without any need for user intervention. In order to individualise the automation and adapt it to your customer’s needs, so-called operating modes can be used.

With operating modes, functions in intelligent buildings can be automated to start depending on the time of day, day of the week, or specific events in the building. This includes automation of the lighting – for example, creating an operating mode for a relaxing evening in watching TV on the sofa, or for when cleaners are attending after business hours; the lighting can automatically adjust based on different parameters in the operating mode.

Erstellen eines Betriebsmodus in der Loxone Config.

Operating modes in the Loxone Config

Operating modes are intuitive for trained Loxone Partners to create directly within Loxone Config.

They can now be activated via operating times or further logic, such as via a switch. You can find detailed instructions on how to use operating modes as an input or output in our documentation.

      Loxone App Automatikdesigner

Automatic Designer in the Loxone App

For users, similar to an operating mode, you can easily create your own automations in the Loxone App using the Automatic Designer.

Select different conditions and subsequent actions, or easily record actions or operating sequences yourself by marking them directly in the app visualisation.

You can link multiple conditions and trigger multiple actions all at the same time – so it can be completely personalised and customised to your taste and lifestyle.

Create lighting moods & switch using logic
      Loxone Config Lichtsteuerung
      In Loxone Config

For Partners, you’ll already be familiar with Loxone Config. You can select the “Moods” tab in the respective room via the “Lighting Controller” Function Block, create a new mood and define the lighting circuits, colour scheme and brightness of the mood.

      Loxone Config Lichtsteuerung

To switch the lighting scene automatically using the operating mode, switch to the “Automatic” tab in Loxone Config. Now we select the operating mode and the lighting mood the system should activate when motion/presence is detected in the respective area. This can all be completely customised to your customer’s preferences. It can be programmed to work in many different ways, whether it be that the system always switches to this lighting mood, or only if the lighting was previously switched off, or whether the lighting mood should be mixed in with the existing mood, etc.

      In the Loxone App

For users, in the Loxone App you can call up the respective room and its lighting controller. Using the “More” item, we can now create a new lighting mood using the “Moods” tab.

Here, individual colours, transition times between colour changes, etc can also be defined. You can also activate the daylight control function with just one tap – then the warmth of the white light automatically adapts to the advancing daylight.

You can then use the Automatic Designer to define whether you want to switch to the respective lighting mood for a specific event or whether it should be mixed in.

      Loxone App Lichtstimmung

With lighting control via Loxone, there are no limits to your creativity allowing you to create bespoke ambience and moods. Whether in your own four walls, in a shop, restaurant, hotel or office: with the right lighting moods, you can optimise those occupying spaces and create the basis for a sense of well-being. And thanks to Loxone automation, you don’t need to get an app – the keyword there is automation. However, should you ever want to make changes to the mood, colour, temperature, or automatic rules, you have complete control at anytime and from anywhere via the free and easy to use Loxone App.
