Yes, you can use regular temperature sensors such as the 1-Wire temp sensor to monitor the temperature in your basement. For the IR panels that we have in our meeting room, we use the in-built temp sensors in our Touch Air switches, but any temp sensor would work here.

A question for me that remains, can I still use regular temp sensors (1-wire), to control the temp in the room?
